Chris and Tom Neilsen are longtime PCC supporters and co-chairs of the PCC Foundation’s Campaign for Opportunity. The couple owned Salem-based Nielsen Manufacturing Inc. before retiring to Portland nearly a decade ago. Chris and Tom’s generous investment in scholarships profoundly impacts the lives of PCC students, year after year. Chris, a social worker specializing in children and families, was Foundation board President from 2012-2013. She and Tom are using their mandatory IRA distributions to create an endowment of $280,000 that will provide scholarships for hundreds of future PCC students for the next 20 years.
